DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: 65% of the work was done from on top of the bridge deck using a travel cart, The rest was done from the ground level.
Here is a list of some of the work;
1) We installed 1375 tons of new steel.
2) Installed 45 tons of repair steel.
3) 90000 rivets were replaced with high strength bolts.
4) Reinforced 142 existing gusset connections
5) 49 major truss members were repaired or reinforced.
6) Demoed parts of the existing bridge.
7) Jacked up one span of the super structure and moved it 1 3/4" to the north.
8) Jacked up and shored approach ramps, so piers could be rebuilt.
This project took 2 years to complete our work and is scheduled to re- open completely in April of 2011.
